MANORHITA, THE TWENTY-SECOND
PATRIARCH, was from Nadi Kingdom and was the son
of King Ever-Self Being. When thirty years old he
encountered Master Vasubandhu, who ordained him as a
homeless monk and transmitted to him the dharma.
Later Master Manorhita went to western India, where the
king was named Ordination, and belonged to the Gautama
clan. This king took refuge in the Buddha vehicle and
