According to scriptural religious tradition, the first
human being (and man), created by God, in the
Judaic based religions (Judaism, Christianity, and
Islam).
The word Adam comes from the Hebrew adamah,
meaning "ground" or "earth". It may also derive earlier
from the Sanskrit word atma, meaning "spirit".
First mentioned in Book of Genesis of the Torah of
the Jews (Old Testament of the Holy Bible).
Adam's wife Eve was created by God from one of the
ribs of Adam.

was tempted by Satan to eat the fruit of the "tree of
knowledge", with Eve. They did, and were thereby
