The Analects
of Confucius
by Confucius
I don't like Confucius at all, and I don't feel any guilt about not liking him. I feel really relieved that it is now on record. --Osho Books I Have Loved

Confucius is the Latinized name of the famous
Chinese thinker and philosopher Kong Fu Zi, usually
known in China simply as
Kongzi (Master Kong) 孔子
The Analects were written in Chinese characters and
titled
Lun Yu (literally, "Ethical Sayings")
論語
They are a series (499 to be exact) of short
aphorisms--guiding precepts to good and right living,
thought to have been written down hundreds of years
after Confucius' death--there are some modern
scholars who question the authenticity of most of the
text as having been actually said by Confucius himself.
