Confucius to the western world, and latinized his
Chinese name

Analects ,and the 5 Classics, are compilations of
his teachings, generally believed to be written down by
disciples from his oral talks.  These books formed the
basis for study and memorization among Chinese
students in traditional Chinese history, for
advancement in government positions.  

there is no actual record of Confucius having written
anything, most writings were collected hundreds of
years after his death.

Mengzi
(lat. Mencius), and Xunzi are two of his well
known followers in history.

his family lineage still continues--there are extensive
genealogical charts in existence in the present day.
