This is the hut where Laozi (Lao
    Tzu) wrote the Dao De Jing (Tao
    Te Ching), or at least it is a
    reconstructed building
    comemorating the site where
    this event supposedly took place.

    It is located at Hangu Pass, a
    military border garrison of old
    China, separating east capital
    Luoyang with west capital
    Chang'an (now Xi'an).

    Inside is a big statue of Laozi
    holding a writing brush, but
    photos are forbidden, as this is
    a temple.
