This is a statue of a Chinese government official and poet, who came to visit this temple, which had a different name at the time. Upon seeing 6 banyan trees in the courtyard, he wrote a poem about it, and the Liurong Temple has been called this since then. Liurong means literally "Six Banyan Trees", and is written below the statue, reading from right to left. |
