| A friend has been coming to me for many years and he is a great devotee of Meher Baba. About thirty years ago he surrendered everything to Meher Baba and after that he did nothing. He would say, “Now there is nothing to be done. Now when Meher Baba wants, it will happen.” It is a very beautiful idea. But that friend continued to tell lies and to indulge in drinking alcohol. He continued to live as before, but now he had this excuse to hide his weaknesses: “Now, whenever Meher Baba wants, it will happen. I have left everything to the master.” Nothing has changed.
