Mulla Nasruddin
stories by
Mulla Nasruddin
I have loved no one as I have loved Nasruddin. He is one of the men who has brought religion and laughter together. --Osho Books I Have Loved

aka:
Nasreddin (Persian: ملا نصرالدین, Arabic:
نصرالدين meaning "Victory of the Faith",
Turkish: Nasreddin Hoca).
His name is spelled differently in various cultures and is
often preceded or followed by titles "Hodja", "Mollā",
"Mullah" or "Khoja"
Was Mulla Nasruddin a real person?
No one knows...there are people who will show you his
gravesite, there are people that will tell you he is a
mythical figure invented,...and everything in beteween it
seems.
But, the stories attributed to him survive, in many
cultures of the East--Iran, Turkey, India, Uzbek,
Afghanistan, and beyond...they all claim Nasruddin is
theirs.
The book by Idries Shah, The Incredible Tales of Mulla
Nasruddin, is probably is the most well known
compendium of tales of this Sufi mystic, but there are
many other collections and translations too.
