This is the main Buddha Hall of Nanhua Zen Temple. Inside is the roushen laquered body of Huineng. This means literally the "meat body", which became a Buddhist term to define a monk's mortal body, being different from one's "dharma body", or "astral body". Taking photos is forbidden inside, but you can see a photo of the roushen of Huineng on the main page here, taken by temple authorities and published in a book. |
