Notes on Jesus
by Thomas
The Gospel of Thomas is another name for these
writings which were discovered in Egypt in 1946, and
dated to the 3rd or 4th century CE. They are called
the "Gnostic Coptic manuscripts."
The notes of Thomas are about 120 sayings
attributed to Jesus, written one after the other, "Jesus
says...", with no narrative story binding them together,
as in the other "gospels" of the New Testament.
There were also earlier versions of this discovered
also in Egypt in 1898, written in Greek, but only
fragmentary.
These are all written by a "Didymus Judas Thomas".
Osho has a book, The Mustard Seed, in which he
uses the Gospel of Thomas as a focus of his talks.
Do you know that Thomas was the first disciple to reach India? Indian Christianity is the oldest in the world, older than the Vatican. And the body of Thomas is still preseved in Goa. --Osho Books I Have Loved
