    Power is of immense importance. It is a
    revolution. Something hidden and dormant
    becomes active, and something that was
    active goes to sleep. And each of you has to
    remember that power is not going to corrupt
    you.

    Lord Acton's famous quotation I have used
    many times: "Power corrupts, and absolute
    power corrupts absolutely." But I don't agree
    with him. It is not the power that corrupts.
    Corruption is in you. Power simply gives you
    an opportunity to show your real face. So
    power is not your enemy; it is a mirror.
    You don't know. You may be carrying a
    Genghis Khan within you, a Tamerlane within
    you, a Nadirshah within you. Power gives you
    the insight to become aware of it all...

    Note: At this time (Sept. 14, 1985,
    evening), commune leader Ma Sheela
    and a small group of her associate
    sannyasins leave the Ranch in a plane, on
    their way to Europe, not to return.
    Discourse 1 below here is dated Sept. 15,
    1985 am.
    Oct. 28, 1985 Osho leaves Ranch
    with small group of disciples and flies to
    N. Carolina, where he is arrested by US
    government agents.
    Nov. 10, 1985 Osho pleads guilty to
    2 counts against him in Portland court,
    and flies out of the US.
    Nov. 17, 1985 –Osho lands in New
    Dehli, India.
    Oct. 28 – Nov. 10, 1985 Osho
    spends 12 days under custody in
    various US jails, including N. Carolina,
    Oklahoma, and Oregon, where he
    finally is taken, ending up in a Portland
    court for a hearing.
    Oct. 23, 1985 US Federal Grand Jury
    issues indictment against Osho, re
    immigration charges.
    The Last Testament series which
    parallels the talks given in From
    Bondage to Freedom (Sept. 15 – Oct.
    27, 1985). These are interviews given
    to members of the World Press in the
    evening – the talks with disciples took
    place in the mornng.
