The Talmud is a record of rabbinic discussions and
edicts concerning Jewish law, customs, ethics, etc. It is
composed of two parts, the
Mishnah (c. 200 CE), and
the
Gemara (c. 500 CE). The text was a originally a
combination of Hebrew, and Jewish Babylonian
Aramaic. The later versions of this work run over 5,000
pages.
