Vimalkirti Nirdesh
Sutra

by Vimalkirti
Nirdesh Sutra means "guidelines." Vimalkirti was one of
the most wonderful men; even a Buddha could be jealous
of this man.

aka: Vimalakirti Nirdesa Sutra, and A Dharma Door to
Inconceivable Liberation

Chinese :
維摩詰經 Wei mo jie jing

Sanskrit :
विमलकीर्ति-निर्देश-सूत्र

Vimalakirti lived at the same time as Buddha, but was not
considered a disciple of his. He was said to have his own
followers, but had contact with Buddha's sangha.

This book was translated into Chinese and Tibetan in the
early days of Buddhist expansion to Asia, and the English
translations are usually based on these, the original
Sanskrit text being lost to history.
