A 20th century Chinese Chan master--
called
Xuyun.  His was a story that is
not known at all outside of China, and
not known much inside China either.
He was said to have dedicated his life
to the Zen tradition in a time of
Chinese political and cultural upheaval.
He traveled widely, under extremely
harsh conditions, going as far as Tibet,
and finally ending up at Yunmen
Temple in southern Guangdong
Province, where he died, and where
his stupa is located.  This is a photo of
Xuyun in meditation, which is the last
picture on the Zen Wall at the temple.
